The TRUTH about growing your hair

The TRUTH about growing your hair

Let’s start by saying all hair grows, yes maybe at a different pace but it will grow.

What can you do to help growth? In short give it a lovely place to grow and a great environment to strive. You want to grow strong healthy hair.

Always read the ingredients! The whole point of the Curly Girl Method Club is to treat your hair gently, so if you are trying to grow your hair, treat what you already have with kid gloves.

Your focus when you’re growing your hair should be on your current hairs health, why? Because retention is in fact what will help you achieve your longer hair goals. If you’re losing a few millimetres every time you dry brush it, you are not going to reach your goal. If your hair snags in your sleep, find an alternative. If you put your hair up very tightly in a normal hair band, stop doing so. Use a coiled band to lightly secure your hair. Use a silk cap not a woollen one. You get where i'm going with this.

Detangle Gently
Assess your hair
Attend to dry patches
Attend to moisture needs
Attend to protein needs
Attend to any scalp issues (seek medical help if need be)
Add a drop of Leave In Strength and Shine to the ends to keep them hydrated
Take the moisture v protein test, what does it need to stay balanced? (in CGM Club)

Don't obsess over it. We know hair takes time to grow, give it time and feed it and you well. To help set a reminder no less than every 3 months

Invest in the protection of your curls, satin bonnet, pillowcase. Invest in the things that protect you hair retain its length.

Lastly and one I swear by is scalp massage. When we co-wash we massage 3-5 minutes, make sure you are too!

When you refresh and fluff use Tonic daily to massage your roots, make your scalp a wonderful place to be and avoid anything that doesn't get you to your goal.
