What Is #SBS?

If you're not familiar with it, #SBS (Small Business Sunday) was founded by entrepreneur Theo Paphitis to support small businesses across the UK.

Each year, #SBS highlights businesses that show passion, creativity, and dedication to their customers. Winning provides small businesses with amazing opportunities for networking, exposure, and growth, including recognition at Spring Fair, one of the UK's biggest retail trade shows.

When Curly Girl Method Club first started, our vision was simple. We wanted to help people feel confident wearing their natural curls. For too long, many people with textured, wavy, curly, and coily hair have been told that their hair is hard to manage or needs fixing. We aimed to change that conversation.

Our goal has always been to educate, encourage, and empower people to embrace their natural hair. Every shampoo, conditioner, styling product, accessory, tutorial, blog post, and social media video has one purpose. That is to make healthy curls easier for everyone.

If you've ever looked in the mirror after spending ages on your curls and thought, "Why is my hair still frizzy?", you're not alone. Here's the good news: frizz isn't something you have to fight. Most of the time, it's simply your curls asking for a little more moisture, a little more protection, or a slightly different routine. At CGMC®, we don't believe in chasing perfect hair. We believe in building simple habits that give you consistently healthier curls. Here are five of the most common mistakes we see and the easy changes that can make a big difference. Mistake #1: Using Too Little Styling Product One of the biggest myths in curl care is that less product equals better curls. In reality, curls need enough product to help them clump together and stay protected while they dry. If your hair feels dry, fluffy, or frizzes within a few hours, you may simply not be using enough styling product. Don't be afraid to apply your products to soaking wet hair. It's much easier to remove excess product than it is to fix frizz later. Mistake #2: Touching Your Curls Before They're Dry We get it. It's tempting. You want to check if your hair is drying, move it out of your face, or scrunch it every few minutes. But every time you touch wet curls, you disturb the curl clumps that are trying to set. The result? More flyaways. More frizz. Less definition. Once you've finished styling, let your curls dry completely before fluffing, scrunching, or separating them. It's one of the easiest ways to improve definition. Mistake #3: Skipping Leave-In Conditioner Think of leave-in conditioner as your curls' daily drink of water. Curly and wavy hair naturally struggles to stay hydrated because natural oils don't travel easily down the hair strand. That's why adding moisture after cleansing is such an important step.
